Westinghouse 7801720 Comet 52-Inch Ceiling Fan, White

Much more difficuld to assemble than a standard fan. Assemble on the ground and then mount to the hanger. Fairly quiet. Light output about 50% LESS THAN THE AVERAGE LIGHT KIT, BUT NOT A BAD THING. LOOKS GREAT FROM A DISTANCE, BUT NOT AS ATTRACTIVE as you approach and start to see exposed screws. Runs quite fast on low speed.

Westinghouse 7814465 Turbo Swirl One-Light 30-Inch Six-Blade Ceiling Fan, Brushed Aluminum with Frosted Globe

I bought and installed one of these in my office. I was disappointed with the fan's performance, but I've made an easy modification that improved its performance.First, it should be noted that with only an eight foot ceiling in here I chose to install it in the "hugger" configuration where it mounts directly to the ceiling. My experience may explain why some reviewers said that they got good airflow, while others said that it didn't do much of anything. With very limited spacing above the blades there isn't much room for them to pull from, and this thing just kind of stirs up the air in the room a bit. Standing directly below it while it is running at full blast you'll find very little air flow in either fan direction.Using the included standoff would probably help, but I still have a relatively low ceiling in here, and don't want to risk injuring any tall friends. So, I did some reading on ceiling fans, and a high number of blades also has a negative effect on a ceiling fan's capability. The blades interfere with eachother, so that they don't get as much "bite" on the air. Consider what would happen with 10 or 30 blades--the fan begins to resemble a solid disk that wouldn't move air at all. Because it's possible to keep the fan balanced while using only three blades, I decided to try this tonight, and was pleasantly surprised. With only three blades installed (removing every other blade), the fan now produces a nice, steady breeze. I think I'll keep it installed,…

I ordered this fan about half a year ago into a new apartment. It's a wonderful model, and with a sleek contemporary design, it fits perfectly. I really love how it looks. It's compatible with a dimmer, I installed the fan using light wood color blades which look fantastic. It takes two bulbs, which is plenty. Ultra quiet. Very happy, no problems.

I typically don't write many reviews, but I like Amazon. We are very happy with this fan. Last spring I bought a couple Hampton Bay 52" fans and they are great. This fan is very attractive, and the best part is that it very, very quiet. We got it for our new bedroom we built. My biggest concern was noise. If I hear a fan making constant humm on low, I would never sleep. We are very happy so far. It has been up and used regularly for nearly a month. Cons: the pulls for the light and fan (separate) are kinda cheap looking (picture of a fan and light respectively). I had read a review prior to my purchase that the fan "rocks" too much when you pull a chain. This just isn't the case with ours. It sounds like their fan may not be properly seated in the hanging bracket. I would highly recommend this fan.

This fan is very quiet and a breeze to install (no pun intended). I had never installed a fan before, but needed this fan to replace the one in my bedroom - I had no issues. The fan looks great, it runs great, and for the price, you simply can't beat it. My only complaint is with the light and fan speed adjustment chains. The pull chains are made of a very cheap metal, and look gaudy to say the least - I left them off and luckily the fan looks fine without them.

This fan is great! Looks exactly like it does in the picture. Works great; install instructions were easy to follow. Only con is that when you pull on the pullchains, you tilt the fan somewhat since the pull chains are on the side of the light kit housing. Everything else is great.
